If signs of an allergic reaction are obvious (inflammation, papules, edema, and pruritus), treat for anaphylactic reaction with allergic symptoms (see above); if signs of an allergic reaction are not obvious, do not treat with epinephrine and follow the steps as described for anaphylactic reaction without allergic symptoms.
