Describe the three main components of informed consent.
What will be an ideal response?
Ans: “Information” means that a sufficient amount of detail about the research must be disclosed to the potential participant during the informed consent process, allowing the individual to make an informed decision on whether or not she or he would like to participate. “Comprehension” means disclosing information in meaningful ways, to enhance potential participants’ understanding of the information. “Voluntariness” means consent was given voluntarily and obtained in “conditions free of coercion and undue influence”.
