Is the use of illegal drugs more common in sports than in society at large?
What will be an ideal response?
No one really knows for sure. However, since so much of athletic performance is based upon human performance, illegal performance-enhancing drugs create an unfair competitive advantage by one participant over another, and this too may undermine the integrity of the sport. It is important to differentiate between performance-enhancing drugs and other illegal drugs (sometimes called controlled substances) such as cocaine and heroin.
