The eudicots typically have floral parts in multiples of five; monocots typically have floral parts in multiples of three. Some flowers have both male and female reproductive parts in each flower; other flowers have male flowers separate from female flowers on the same plant (this is termed monoecious), others have male flowers on different plants than plants that bear the female flowers (this is termed dioecious).
