Theory is a logically interrelated set of propositions about empirical reality and theoretical constructs are parts of a theory that describe what is important to look at to understand, explain, predict, and "do something about" the subject. An example is differential association theory. A theoretical construct of this theory is "definitions unfavorable or favorable to the violation of the law."
