What is the triadic reciprocal model of behavior? Use the model to explain how the three factors in the model relate to effect behavior.
What will be an ideal response?
The triadic reciprocal model of behavior is a model that shows human functioning
as shaped by three factors that are reciprocally related: reinforcement, cognitive
processes, and behavior. For example, a student is in a statistics test fails the first
exam. This causes him to think he is not good at statistics, and lowers his self-efficacy
for understanding the theories and concepts. This lower self-efficacy causes him to
become nervous for exams, less apt to focus when studying. His poor performance
causes the professor to call on him less often in class, as the professor assumes that
the student is uninterested and unwilling to try on the exams.
