Describe the Mohs hardness scale and list, in increasing order of hardness, the minerals of the Mohs

hardness scale. What will be an ideal response?

The Mohs hardness scale measures a mineral's resistance to abrasion and is controlled mostly by its
internal structure. The minerals of the scale from softest to hardest are: talc, gypsum, calcite, fluorite,
apatite, orthoclase/feldspar, quartz, topaz, corundum, and diamond.
