Discuss the similarities and differences between content analysis and secondary data analysis.

Content analysis involves taking data (texts) that already exist and subjecting them to a new form of "analysis," which is similar to secondary analysis. However, content analysis also involves sampling and measurement of primary data. And, unlike the secondary analyst of qualitative data, the content analyst, by definition, applies primarily quantitative techniques to the coding and analysis of his/her data.
