Answers will vary but should discuss the issue of social stigma, the Internet-enhanced possibility of permanent stigma even for offenders who are not required to register for the rest of their lives, and the negative effects that stigma may have on offenders and on their ability to successfully reintegrate back into society. They may also discuss the question of whether these laws increase public safety and whether offenders are displaced to other communities.
