official data includes the Summary Reporting System and National Incident-Based
Reporting System, juvenile court records, and so on. Examples of self-report data
include the Monitoring the Future project, the National Longitudinal Survey of Youth, the
National Youth Survey-Family Study, and the Youth Risk Behavior Surveillance System.
An example of victim data collection effort is the National Crime Victimization Survey.
