How can you tell if a strike-slip fault is right- or left-lateral? What will be an ideal response?
If you put one foot on each side of the fault, notice which side is moving toward your foot and which
is moving away. If one side is moving toward your right foot, it is a right-lateral strike-slip fault. If one
side is moving toward your left foot, it is a left-lateral strike-slip fault. Turn around so that you're
facing the other way to be sure the results are the same.
