Is the soul (agent intellect) immortal? Why?

What will be an ideal response?

Answer: Aquinas combines humanity's natural emotions and passions with their higher attributes like rationality and the possession of a soul. For him, the two represent one entity. He justifies his position by saying that humans are dual creatures, with their body as the physical building block for a human being, and their soul as the aspect that make them human. These two parts of a human are clearly different, but are simply components of an individual governed by his reason.
