Give an example of a speech topic that would be appropriate for the problem-cause-solution organizational pattern and explain why.

What will be an ideal response?

Examples will vary, but all examples should address a topic in which there is a problem with the status quo, a definable cause of that problem, and a solution to be offered. This organizational pattern is used with persuasive speeches, so the topic should be persuasive in nature. For example, a speaker could suggest students have a problem getting to class on time because of the way the campus is laid out. The solution might be getting around on an electric scooter, a relatively inexpensive and yet quick means of transportation. In this case, the speaker would try to persuade classmates to invest in a scooter.
