What three types of congressional standing committees have responsibility for legislative oversight?

What will be an ideal response?

First, authorizing committees prepare the laws that authorize programs and can initiate, review, and report out bills and resolutions in particular areas (such as labor, commerce, education, or foreign affairs). Second, appropriations committees have the most impressive credentials for control of administration and operate under the time pressure of the annual appropriations process. Finally, the committees on government operations have the broadest responsibility and strongest powers for overseeing administrative activities. All three types of committees are responsible for legislative oversight.
