What does sampling error mean? Suppose you discover that your sample has more sampling errors than a colleague’s study sample. Who is in a better position to generalize their findings? Or are you and your colleague equal in regard to this issue?

What will be an ideal response?

Ans: Sampling error is the difference between the study sample and the study population. Suppose that you find that 55% of the people in your population are female while 50% of those in your sample are female. This difference would represent sampling error. Your colleague is in a greater position to generalize because he has less sampling errors than you.
