For example, in academia, instructors or professors are required to teach courses they have practiced in and/or are considered experts in a given topic. This requirement ensures a student is receiving a quality educational curriculum and the instructor can contribute to building knowledge for the profession by her/his ongoing research agenda in that topic area.
