What factors may a manufacturer consider to determine whether to distribute products directly to customers? Can automobiles be distributed directly to customers?

What will be an ideal response?

The decision to distribute directly is based on factors such as cost of distribution under different alternatives, coverage provided by different alternatives, competitors’ distribution perspectives, control desired and feasible under different alternatives, and the characteristics of the product/market. Direct distribution of automobiles is quite feasible. However, currently it may not be desirable due to a variety of sociopolitical reasons.
