A study of 229 entrepreneurs and small business owners (in the Vancouver, Canada, metropolitan area) also demonstrated that it makes good business sense to create positive moods and a positive emotional climate among employees (Ozcelik, Langton, & Aldrich, 2008). This study found that doing well and doing good are not mutually exclusive—the entrepreneurs who took good care of their employees by creating a positive emotional climate were more profitable over an 18 month time span as assessed by both company performance and growth.
