Total Quality Management has been defined as a philosophy that represents the guiding principles of a continuously improving organization. This process involves the organizational use of quantitative tools and techniques, management principles and practices and human resource development (HRD). The primary purpose of TQM is to provide a quality product to the customer that will result in improved sales and lower production costs. The philosophy of total quality management must be embraced by the corporate culture from the top to the bottom. Product quality is the responsibility of the entire organization.
