Describe the four functions of management


The main activities and responsibilities of managers can be grouped into four areas, or functions.
1 . Planning is the forward-looking aspect of a manager's job; it involves setting goals and objectives and deciding how best to achieve them.
2 . Organizing focuses on distributing and arranging human and nonhuman resources so that plans can be carried out successfully.
3 . Leading involves influencing others to carry out the work required to reach the organization's goals.
4 . Controlling consists of regulating certain organizational activities to ensure that they meet established standards and goals.
