What is a Wildcard Character? How would you use it to find a record?

What will be an ideal response?

A wildcard character is a placeholder for an unknown part of a value. It can be used to match a certain pattern in a value. You use it when you know part of the value. For example, you can use it in a Find Command to find all records that contain "Butter" in them without caring about the rest of the field. Given *butter*, Access will match Peanut butter and buttercup.
