Identify the three types of single-group designs discussed in the text noting possible advantages or disadvantages of each

What will be an ideal response?

Posttest-only designs are open to many confounds, there is no comparison group, and there is no equivalent control group. Pretest/posttest designs allow us to compare scores on the pretest with those on the posttest; however, there is still no comparison group or equivalent control group. A time-series design allows us to see the effect of the treatment over time because many measures are taken; however, once again there is no control or comparison group.
