During an officer's testimony, what should the officer do when the prosecutor has overlooked what seems to be a crucial element of the questioning?

What will be an ideal response?

After completing testimony, if the officer sincerely believes that there was a very important point overlooked, the officer may quietly mention it to the prosecutor after leaving the stand. If the prosecutor thinks that the omitted testimony is important enough, he or she may recall the officer to the stand. However, if the prosecutor chooses to disregard the point, the officer should not argue. It is the prosecuting attorney's, not the officer's, responsibility to guide the prosecution of the defendant.
