Explain the “behavioral” dimension. How do we evaluate whether an intervention can be considered behavioral?
What will be an ideal response?
For an intervention to be considered behavioral, we must define the behaviors to be addressed in observable and measurable terms. That means the behavior can be seen and recorded, and the changes can be measured over time. ABA focuses on what the child should or should not do, rather than what they should or should not think or feel. Moreover, ABA should focus on getting a child to exhibit a new behavior, not just stop a problematic one.
