What is the role of a supervisor in the employee selection process of both large and small organizations?

What will be an ideal response?

A supervisor's role in the selection process can vary greatly from one organization to another. In small organizations, a supervisor may have great latitude in selecting employees to fill vacant positions. Other organizations have formal procedures that require the human resources department to do most of the work, with the supervisor simply approving the candidates recommended. In most cases, a supervisor works to some extent with a human resources department. In this way, a supervisor benefits from that department's skills in screening and interviewing candidates and from its familiarity with laws regarding hiring practices.
