Summarize why liberal feminists consider gender equality to be so important in international relations.
What will be an ideal response?
Liberal feminist believe that women will start to have more of a significant impact on international relations if they comprise at least 30 percent of a country’s political representatives. When the 30 percent mark is reached, women begin to feel solidarity with each other. As a result, they are more likely to express their true views than go along with the male-dominated way of doing things. For liberal feminists, supporting gender equality is crucial to reach the 30 percent threshold and thus have more of an effect on the world stage.
