What will be an ideal response?
The Greeks viewed human development as a transformation from the imperfect state of childhood to the perfection of adulthood. During the Middle Ages, this view changed, and children were treated as property and put to work. Aside from a few places, such as Islamic Spain, generally only the wealthiest children received a formal education. In the twentieth century, however, opinions once again shifted, and education for all children became increasingly accepted.
