What environmental elements could you modify to increase the difficulty of your game?
What will be an ideal response?
You should consider a wide variety of environmental elements that may be modified to increase the difficulty of their games. A sub-set of these elements includes: enemies (larger, more, smarter); in-game items (variety, quantity, point value); obstacles (props, vehicles, walls, doors, structures); and movement/physics (restricted, complexity, style). After separately looking at each element that already exists in their games, students should discuss what adjustments they could make to each of them – and how these adjustments could increase difficulty without making the game impossible to play.
