Please use Goffman’s characterization to describe this apology.

In 2006, Rev. Ted Haggard's issue what has been called the "Sexual Immorality" Letter, in which he indicates: "I am so sorry. I am sorry for the disappointment, the betrayal, and the hurt. I am sorry for the horrible example I have set for you... But I alone am responsible for the confusion caused by my inconsistent statements. The fact is, I am guilty of sexual immorality, and I take responsibility for the entire problem. I am a deceiver and a liar. There is a part of my life that is so repulsive and dark that I've been warring against it all of my adult life."

What will be an ideal response?

Respondents need to refer to two the part a person splits into when apologizing: the part that indicates he is guilty of an offense; and the part that indicates a belief in the offended rule. They can use the example provided to analyze these two parts—“The example I have set for you,” and the affirmation of the belief in “sexual immorality.”
