What is the difference between single-phase AC and three-phase AC voltage?
What will be an ideal response?
Single-phase AC has one sine wave and points where the system has no EMF in the system.Three-phase AC has three sine waves 120 degrees apart electrically. This results in a system that always has EMF working in the system and is thus more efficient. Another benefit of three-phase AC is the fact that neutrals are not needed due to the way the sine waves interact.
