As many of the individuals we quote in the Voices Across the Profession features in this text have expressed, a career in corrections is a meaningful one in which you can have a positive impact on the lives of others and make a difference in your community. There are many jobs in corrections where opportunities for advancement are great. These vary from community programs to those in institutions, from juvenile to adult corrections, from privately administered agencies to state and federal agencies. Most states and the federal jurisdiction offer a good salary package for working in corrections. The health insurance and pension plans are further inducements for corrections employment.
