Why is color blindness more common in males? What will be an ideal response?

Color blindness is an X-linked trait, which means the gene controlling color vision is on the X
chromosome. You will recall from earlier chapters that human females have two X chromosomes
while human males have only one. As a result, if the male receives the faulty X he will express the
trait, but a female who receives one faulty X will not show the trait as her second X will express the
correct genes.
