Define burnout and describe how to help prevent it.
What will be an ideal response?
Responses will vary; Chronic stress can lead to burnout which is a state of physical and mental exhaustion with few remaining resources. Physical symptoms of burnout can include headache, indigestion, fatigue, and muscle soreness. Mental symptoms can include depression, resentment, apathy, and the inability to cope. To prevent burnout, surround yourself with a strong social support network, do something different, take time for enjoyment, volunteer, and take a class just for fun.
