Why should uncoated metal paint cans (or similar containers) and not plastic bags or containers be used for the storage of material suspected of containing flammable liquids?
What will be an ideal response?
If plastic bags or plastic containers are used for the storage of suspect substances, there is a possibility that the substance may absorb hydrocarbons from the plastic, thus contaminating it and rendering it valueless as evidence. In order to avoid this problem, all suspected substances should be stored in uncoated metal paint cans or similar types of metal containers.
