Explain the process whereby a dissolved solid may assume a crystal structure.

What will be an ideal response?

When a solid dissolves into a liquid, its particles break away from the structure and mix evenly in the liquid, forming a solution. When they are heated, most liquids evaporate. This means that some of the atoms or molecules of which the liquids are made break free from the body of the liquid to become gas particles. When all of the liquid in a solution has evaporated, the solid is left behind. The particles of the solid normally arrange in a structure called a crystal.
