What will be an ideal response?
While it is impossible for victim assistance personnel to recognize all the different types cyber-crime, it is important for them to understand the effects it has on victims and the community. Helping victims of cyber-crime requires personnel to not provide false hope in the recovery of assets in Internet fraud cases, and in cases of cyber-bullying, cyber-stalking and online sexual exploitation, helping victims piece together a chronological, fact-based account of their victimization. Victim assistance personnel can greatly assist victims to assess what happened and identify the most appropriate resources for reporting and recovery.
