Answers should identify raw scores as the number or percentage of correct answers, which give adequate information but difficult to interpret as there is no comparison; percentile scores as rank information about comparison based on percentage of people who scored at or below their scores; grade-equivalent scores as representing the median score for a particular grade level indicating whether they are scoring at, below, or above grade-level, but easily misinterpreted especially as they are not a statistic that can be manipulated or allows comparisons across tests or situations; standard scores are derived by converting percentile ranks into single digit systems (i.e., stanines) or by converting raw scores into scores based on mean and standard deviation (i.e., z- and t-scores). Standard scores are used for ease of interpretation, and those based on mean, and SD are useful for accurate comparisons among scores.
