How could the micro-explanations from Part I be more fully integrated with process theories? Create a map connecting one or more aspects from Part I with one or more of the theories from Part III.

What will be an ideal response?

One idea worthy of more attention is how biological or psychological deficits discussed in Part I of this text may lead to deviant attitudes (differential association/social learning) or may be the result of a broader breakdown in the family (social control). For example, young people born with antisocial or impulsive tendencies may seek out other peers with similar attitudes. Together these youth would reinforce deviant attitudes and increase again the chance of engaging in delinquent behavior. On the other hand, biological or psychological deficits may be the result of an unstable home life. For example, the presence of alcohol or drugs in the home may impact the fetus, if the mother consumes either while pregnant. Addiction may also lead to other problems in the home that undermine proper socialization, limit youth experience with good role models, and undermine their ability to internalize societal norms more likely to keep them away from criminal activity.
