What will be an ideal response?

There is a misconception the CBT therapists focus almost exclusively on clients’ cognitions and behaviors, while largely ignoring the clients’ emotional experiences. In contrast, however, a vitally important aspect of CBT interventions requires clients to monitor changes in their affect, monitor specific thoughts and resultant feelings, and notice when sudden affective changes have occurred. The ability to work effectively with a client’s affective reactions is crucial to CBT.
