Define unobtrusive research, and explain how it works

What will be an ideal response?

An unobtrusive research method completely avoids researcher reactivity by collecting data completely independently of the processes that produced the data. This means examining social artifacts, traces, or other materials or events that were first created for some other reason prior to researchers examining them as data. They allow researchers to examine and assess human traces, including what people do, how they behave and structure their daily lives, and even how humans are affected by certain ideological stances in the things people leave behind. All information is gathered from various traces and records created or left by humans (whether intended or inadvertent). It can provide a way to study subjects that might otherwise be very difficult or impossible to investigate.
