What does it mean to say that conflict is perceived to reflect incompatible goals?

What will be an ideal response?

Conflict is perceived to reflect incompatible goals because members perceive that what they want and desire is incompatible with the desires of others or the group. However, these are ultimately
perceptions because all members may desire the same things and just have different ways of
accomplishing the group's goals. Therefore, what appear to be incompatible goals may actually be
compatible once group members discuss and understand the problem.
