What will be an ideal response?
It should include these important parts:
• Present level of performance, which describes how the child is currently doing in school and prioritizes the needs.
• Annual goals and objectives, which describes what the child is expected to learn within a 12-month period.
• Measuring and reporting progress, which describes how the child’s progress toward meeting the annual goals will be measured and when it will be reported to caregivers.
• Special education services, which describes the special education services that will be provided to the child, the related services, and the supplementary aids or services to be provided to the student.
• Educational placement, which contains an explanation of the extent to which the child will participate with nondisabled students in the regular class and in other school settings.
• Program and testing modifications
• Length and duration of services
• Statement of transition, beginning no later than age 16, which includes measurable goals for the student’s anticipated post-secondary program and the services needed to reach these goals.
