What is the difference between short-hair fiberglass and long-hair fiberglass?

Short-hair fiberglass filler has tiny particles of fiberglass in it. Short-hair filler works and sands a little harder than a conventional filler but is much stronger.Long-hair fiberglass filler has long strands of fiberglass for even more strength. It is waterproof but very hard to sand. Again, it can be used where filler strength is vital to the repair. Long-hair filler is often covered with a thin coat of easily sandable lightweight body filler.
