Critical Thinking QuestionsCase 1-1Sally is a very active real estate agent. She is looking to purchase a new computer so she can keep track of her client's accounts, access the Internet from anywhere in the city and touch-up photos of real estate properties. Should Sally get a laptop computer or a Tablet PC? What are the considerations for her?

What will be an ideal response?

Before purchasing a notebook computer, Sally needs to determine whether a traditional notebook computer, netbook, or Tablet PC will meet her needs. If she will spend most of her time working on spreadsheets, writing and/or editing documents, sending and responding to e-mail messages, or using the Internet, then a traditional notebook computer will suffice. If her primary use will be to access the Internet while traveling and she is not concerned as much with processing power or hard disk capacity, consider a netbook. If she spends more time in meetings than in her office, then the Tablet PC may be the answer. Before she invests money in a Tablet PC, however, she should determine which programs she plans to use on it. She should not buy a Tablet PC simply because it is an interesting type of computer.
