Why are there no giant insects?
What will be an ideal response?
Insects rely on a series of branched tubules connected to the outside air for oxygen. Oxygen must diffuse through the trachea to reach the tissues, a strategy that works well only in extremely small bodies. A giant insect would not be able to obtain enough oxygen for its tissues.
