While gazing into an aquarium, you observe bubbles coming from an aquatic plant. What are the bubbles and where are they coming from?
What will be an ideal response?
The bubbling from submerged aquatic plants is quite a common phenomenon and can actually be enhanced by shining a light source on the plants. Of course, what you are observing is the photolysis of water into hydrogen ions (retained) and oxygen gas (diffused outward).
