Discuss the components of an effective study skills program

What will be an ideal response?

Prior to implementation of a study skills program, specific goals and objectives are set. The program begins by introducing simple variations of study skills in lower elementary grades and gradually increasing in complexity as students progress through the grades. Students’ individual strengths and weaknesses guide decision-making concerning which study skills to emphasize at any particular time. Instruction include direct instruction, modeling, and guided practice, where teachers explain, model, and demonstrate the proper use of each study skill, and students are guided in proper use of skills. Students are also taught how to generalize skills in natural setting.
