What will be an ideal response?


Pros—some say they save money, lower startup costs, more beds. Cons—not as
highly regulated, so they may cut corners; want inmates to work, so that could impact
the length of inmates’ sentences; inmates may be placed further from their homes,
hurting families and leading to greater potential for problems upon release.
