Discuss why bombs have become the weapon of choice for terrorists.
What will be an ideal response?
Bombs have many benefits for terrorists: They are dramatic, potentially devastating, they can cause horrific injuries, and they draw a lot of media attention. They are potentially more destructive than guns or knives. They can create mass causalities with no warning. The blasts are indiscriminate. They come in all shapes and varieties from letter bombs (e.g., Unabomber), backpack bombs (e.g., Boston Marathon bombing), suitcase bombs (e.g., Pan Am Flight 103 in 1988) to truck and car bombs (e.g., Oklahoma City federal building bombing).
