Explain what the Tea Party movement's platform consists of, using three examples (policies, beliefs, ideas, etc.). Also, explain why you support or oppose the Tea Party view on each example
What will be an ideal response?
An ideal response will:
1, Explain that the Tea Party movement platform is based on ultra-conservative views of government, government involvement, business, and immigration. The response should mention at least three of the following: preference for small government, belief that government is inefficient and wasteful, belief in protecting corporations, belief that the border should be better protected, and/or the belief that undocumented aliens should not have a path to citizenship. The response may get at these concepts through discussions of the bank bailouts, Democratic health care reform, rising deficits, taxes, regulations, immigration, and opposition to Barack Obama.
2, Discuss support or opposition to each policy/belief/idea mentioned. Responses will vary and should be assessed on coherence and analytical thinking.
